There is a new art fair in Irving. It's called the Irving Main Street Event. The booth fee has been reduced to $25 and the show isn't juried. Please give the link below to any artists/crafters/vendors (no musicians...all musician spots are filled) you know who might be interested. It's only a 5 hour show on September 27th, so it's not a huge commitment. They still have lots of openings, so lets fill 'er up! And tell them that Shelly referred you :)…

I have received several venue opportunities for the coming months. This weekend, I will be visiting two venues to scope out the space and to discuss the details and scheduling. Stay tuned...and let me know if you are ready to present!)
Also, we have added 8 new artists to the site. Laura Renee's work is featured in the photo section. Her choice of…

Friends of the "new" CSDFW Network, I have reached a crossroad on this journey of mine to create unique and interesting event for you to showcase your amazing work and talents. And at this crossroad I have chosen to branch out a little a tap into my own creativity by shaping this network and our events into my vision of a mix-media event where presenting and discussing your creativity is easy and exciting. At this junction, you have noticed that I change the name of the site/network to Creative…

Yes. I was the first presenter at the first one 2008-04-27 17:31:09
in Denver! I had come across a set of old Village Inn training slides, so I edited them down to 20 of the most boring, banal images there were. Some had really cheesy graphics on them that said 'pizazz!', even. My narrative consisted of: "Number one. Greeting." "number two. Greeting." and so forth. 20 seconds is an ETERNITY when you only say three words per slide. The crowd was in hysterics, and it was all I could do to keep a…

One of the most impressive PK groups in the States is the San Fran group. To get a feeling of what the PKDFW will eventually achieve check out the SF website
http://pechakucha-sf.com/index.htm. The SF group is about to hold their 24th volume this June to mark their 2 year anniversary. The coolest thing about this upcoming event is that they have lined it up with another very large event the San Jose Global Art Festival. A Fantastic Idea.

Today, I made contact with the staff at two local museums to begin discusions about this type of event and what it would take to hold our first Pecha Kucha Night at either location.
Please practice virility and spread this idea to your other communities. This is the only way to gain the momentum in the art and design communities.
Gratefully,
